Become a Redditor and subscribe to one of thousands of communities. I knew it was possible, as I had the Intuos GD working before on the same laptop, but it had messed up and I was flummoxed. Then I remembered reading in a forum about the same issues some users were having, but on Windows 7 64bit. Worked getting an old GDR up and running on W7. Unfortunately I forgot to take some notes about what I have done and just a few weeks ago I messed up my system and the tablet stopped working.
I have same tablet, followed the method but did not work Windows You may receive an update driver warning.
I know it seems a little dumb to ask. Will call Wacom not open until tomorrow g-d0912-u post their reply. I tried a serial to usb adapter.

The Intuos A3 Serial is approx xmm, the largest size of tablet. I also read that to get pressure sensitivity intups these programs, Windows Ink can be enabled and have the features removed in order to remove problems with lag, but in my case I don't even have an option to enable Windows Ink. Comes with pen and 4D mouse. Your old Intuos Graphics tablet needs to be infuos. Found your post today and after several tries and retries, I got it right and my old friend is back in business on my newer Win 7 machine.
Nov 5, 7: I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and at first my Wacom GDR keep working, after some days it stopped working.
